A message from Daniel
The Police force in West Mercia have seen drastic cuts under this Government. The current Police and Crime Commissioner has allowed Police Community Support Officers to be halved whilst overseeing a 18% fall in Police numbers, I believe that for the sake of Police jobs, we need a Labour Police & Crime Commissioner in West Mercia.
I pledge to put victims first. It is not acceptable that, whilst crimes such as domestic violence see a 66% increase, police budgets are being slashed. That is why I will I will lobby the Home Office for proper funding of the Police Service, so that everyone can feel confidence that when crime is reported we have the means in which to follow up.
As Police and Crime Commissioner I would focus on tackling the hidden number of domestic abuse cases, tackle rising hate crime and start to tackle online crime, something which has been missing in the current PCC's approach. Online fraud and abuse is a growing issue, however the current budget is only aimed at supporting businesses, therefore it is my aim to educate, prevent and follow up on all victims of cyber crime.
I believe that communities should be at the heart of policing, that is why, as Police and Crime Commissioner, I would ensure every penny of extra funding is spent on community policing, putting PCSOs back on the beat throughout West Mercia.
